General Public Holiday Information
- The first Monday in August is quite
often referred to as a Civic Holiday. This
Holiday however is not listed by the Ontario
government as a statutory holiday and is not
listed in the Ontario Employment Standards Act.
As such, it appears to be up to the discretion
of the employer as to whether or not the
employee will get paid if they ask and are given
the day off.
- Family Day became a Public Holiday on October 12, 2007
in Ontario
